Great freedom of movement :  

ROSA® has a robot arm with six degrees of freedom whose architecture reproduces the movements of a human arm. This gives great dexterity of movement in performing surgical gestures and ensures total freedom in the choice of trajectory.


Assisted navigation :

ROSA® offers assisted navigation which allows the surgeon to display and visualize his instruments in real time on the patient images. Surgery is made easier by greater visibility of the evolving instruments combined with the planning data.


Reliability and safety of the surgical act :

ROSA® has advanced haptic capacities offering the neurosurgeon the possibility to manually guide and manipulate his instruments with great precision, within the limits established at the planning stage. The system interacts with the surgeon without changing his usual operating habits whilst, at the same time, giving him all the advantages of robotic movement: repeatability and precision.


Non-invasive, contactless patient registration :

ROSA® offers a unique patient registration system, patented by Medtech, combining robotic technology with a laser measuring system allowing the patient’s anatomy to be precisely located. With this method, surgery can be performed without the use of landmarks (fiducials and stereotactic frames which are often very invasive).


Dynamic guidance :

ROSA® is equipped with a dynamic guidance system which follows a defined trajectory, in real time, in spite of the patient’s body movements.  That way, the surgeon can be sure his instruments are positioned according to the planned trajectory.
