MEDTECH TO HIGHLIGHT ROSA ROBOTIC SURGERY SYSTEM AT 2016 NORTH AMERICAN SPINE SOCIETY (NASS) ANNUAL MEETING

Montpellier, France, October 19, 2016 – MEDTECH (Euronext, FR0010892950 – ROSA), a company specialized in designing, developing and marketing innovative surgical assistance robots, today announced it will highlight its ROSA® robotic surgery system at the upcoming North American Spine Society (NASS) Annual Meeting to be held October 26 – 29, 2016 in Boston, MA.

NASS is the largest spine meeting and exhibition in the world. During the conference, Medtech will display the ROSA® robotic surgery system at Booth #1531. Both ROSA® Brain and ROSA® Spine will be demonstrated for the attending neurosurgeons and spine surgeons.

Bertin Nahum, CEO of Medtech, said, “This is a particularly exciting NASS meeting for Medtech given that we will be displaying ROSA® Spine following FDA approval earlier this year. In addition, robotics is expected to be a key theme of this year’s conference, and we are happy to continue our important role in this area of spine and neurosurgery.”

The ROSA® system is designed to increase the safety and reliability of minimally invasive brain and spine procedures. The robot allows physicians to precisely execute minimally invasive surgery according to highly accurate planning based on intraoperative images. With its six degrees of freedom replicating the movements of a human arm, the robotic arm can easily reach the targeted areas. In addition, the device’s dynamic guidance system tracks the patient’s movement in real time allowing the surgeon to adjust intraoperatively and maintain planned trajectories.
